ciudad de cartón

I met this guy when i was walking around the streets of Mission last weekend. It was kinda scarry walking around Mission. its dirty, filthy, people running, shouting and has lots of homeless, addicts, etc loitering all over the place.

His name is Jessie, one of the many new orleaneans who have found themselves relocating in the streets of San Francisco right after the hurricane hit the country. What makes him different among all the other bums i've photographed is that he's a street vendor as well. Its nice to see someone strive to change things despite losing everything after Katrina. He was very kind and considerate but what i really found interesting was the number of needles i found inside his bag...
